I create my stories with a needle and thread. Early on, I realized that we Sámi lack stories in the form of pictures. We have been good at preserving our oral stories, and I am grateful to my family for giving the oral stories a pivotal role in our lives. It is these stories that are the fertile breeding ground that has provided me with my thoughts about what I can achieve through my pictorial storytelling. My pictures contain scenes from everyday life, tales from Sámi mythology, political reflections and tales about Sámi culture and history.
